1st haircut...

maisy's hair was getting so long. her bangs were in her eyes all the time and her curls in the back weren't as curly because they were weighed down by the length.  we couldn't wait for auntie jody to come and visit for thanksgiving and to give maisy her first haircut. so yesterday, when things quieted down a bit and maisy had, had a good nap we decided to give it a go. we gave her a cup of sprite with a straw so she wouldn't have to put her head back to drink. then her "boyfriend" bryan (actually jody's boyfriend) held her. she did an amazing job. i don't think she really got what was going on.  auntie jody did an amazing job and maisy looks adorable. we can see her eyes again and her curls are curling again.  thanks so much jody, it was pretty special to have you give maisy her 1st haircut. xoxox

quick update...

had a great day yesterday. hung out with the fam, miles and the boys went boating at lopez, and the girls shopped a bit. the boys minus miles went to a comedy show, and the girls, minus sam sam and maisy went to the OG for dinner. went to the outlets for a brief shopping spree and then headed home for a few glasses of vino...  maisy is going to get her first haircut today, i'll post pics later.

turkey hangover...

we had an awesome day yesterday. david's mom dawn came up from thousand oaks on tuesday. we hung out shopped and then she cooked dinner for us yesterday.  miles helped me set the table, it came out beautiful. miles even went outside, picked some lovely yellow flowers which we used to decorated the table.  the meal was so good, but i have to admit, my late night turkey leftover sandwich was my favorite.  after dawn left we headed over to sam sam and papa's we had another dessert and hung out with the aunts and uncles.  i headed to michael's at around 8:00 pm for a their super big sale. so i picked up some cricut cartridges, got some ornaments for maisy's tree and a gingerbread house for miles and i to put together. i can't wait for maisy to be old enough to join in the tradition. will be putting fall away this weekend and dragging out the christmas stuff... sooooo excited! we will probably get our tree next weekend.

christmas photo shoot

i went to images for kids two weeks ago and had the kids pictures taken. i wasn't sure if i was going to use them for our x-mas cards this year, but i remembered how last year went. so when i got the pics back i decided to use them for our cards this year. the photos below are not the actual pictures i am using for the cards, these are just a sampling. i can't believe today is thanksgiving already... i will be putting away the fall decorations and putting up the x-mas decorations this weekend, or at least starting to. this year has gone by so fast, but i will save the memories for a future post. hope you all have a wonderful thanksgiving. i am so thankful for all my friends and family and a very special thanks to my wonderful husband who has been working his a$@ off. love you babe!

kindergarten feast...

yesterday was miles' thanksgiving feast at school. his class had been practicing songs and making costumes for weeks.  the other kinder's joined miles' class in the cafeteria to sing some native american songs.  then they all sat down at the decorated tables for their "feast" of chicken nuggets, bananas, corn on the cob and cookies. not very traditional, but very cute. it was so cool to see miles' teacher mr. grigsby and his student teacher dressed up in native american outfits.

not feeling 100%

since i am trying to do the post everyday of november, here it is... short and sweet. i am not feeling that great.  i am hoping it's just that i am overtired, we'll see. have a wonderful tuesday!

silly boy...

miles and i were having fun the other day.  we were talking about getting a haircut, and he thought he didn't need one... so i put it in ponytails and asked him if he thought it needed to be cut now. he just cracked up laughing. i told him he looked like me when i was his age. i think i'll save these pictures to show his girlfriends.  i'm sure they'll think he's just adorable. he he he

new moon love...

thursday and friday were new moon nights.  thursday i went to the first showing at 12:01AM with my friend stacie and her daughter katie. the theatre we went to offered tickets to watch twilight at 9:00PM for $5. after it was finished we were let out to get popcorn, and then they moved us to another theater before they let all the people who had been waiting outside to come in... and the theater we were in was a digital theater, so the picture was so clear and sharp. the movie was AMAZING!!! so much better than the first. i took a picture of my car clock so you could see what time i got out of the movie. then on friday night, my scrapbook group had a meeting, we met at my friend joanna's house, ate pizza and scrapped a little. then we headed out to the ten o'clock showing of new moon. so much fun going with a group of ladies. especially since we are split on team edward and team jacob. so yesterday i was so tired. i slept in and then took a 2 1/2 hour nap in the afternoon.  feeling better today, no more "lack of sleep hangover".  probably going to see new moon again next week with my two sister's in law.

card making...

i have never really been into card making. i have always just been into regular scrapbooking. but recently i found this cute (and easy) card kit club on line. this is the second kit i've put together. just thought i'd share. i think they came out really cute.

play date....

miles had a great day with his buddy "G" today. they played outside, did race cars in miles' bedroom and had a blast making playdoh "worms". miles can't wait for the next time. also, i had a great day visiting with my friend ana. i feel like i have know her for a longtime, but we are new friends. it's fun to hang out with her because our kids are the same age. her boy "J' is a few months older than maisy. it was so cute today when ana and J left, maisy gave J a big hug. who knows maybe they'll be "friends" in the future... ha ha ha :) but more than that ana is a fun to be around and easy to talk to, very nice to have her in my life.

sooo naughty...

i think these pictures say it all. she is a naughty little girl. but she is so cute too, i can't get too mad at her. (yes, she is standing on her little table, and yes she is sneaking my diet coke)

the big game...

miles has been playing rookie basketball at the YMCA. remember this post ... tonight was his final game, and it was hilarious. miles worked so hard, running up and down the court playing defense and then getting passes from his teammates. when he got the ball, he held on to it tight and ran down the court without dribbling. it was sooo funny. i'd yell to him dribble, dribble and he'd dribble once and then continue to run. he did score two baskets. and he was very proud of himself. it was also great because david got to take a 1/2 hour off from work to be there to see miles make both of those baskets. that made miles' whole day.

it better be good...

david has been working his A@@ off on this movie... i feel like i haven't seen him in two weeks...and it's not due until january.  hopefully he'll get some sleep soon... and we'll get a date night soon.  here is a preview of the movie... looks like it is going to be cool. but then again anything with johnny depp in it is awesome!

sleep study...

miles and i got home from his sleep study at about 5:30 this morning. to give you a little background information... miles is a snorer, he stops breathing when he's sleeping, he has big tonsils and to top it off, he sleep walks. so before the dr. would take miles' tonsils out, he wanted to do a sleep study to see if that is what is causing his snoring. we got to the sleep clinic at 8:30 and miles was hooked up. miles worked on his writing, we read some books, and then we went to sleep. it only took miles a little bit to fall asleep. once he found a comfy position he was out. ryan our sleep tech came in about 3 times to readjust wires on miles during the night, so of course i woke up each time. let's just say i didn't sleep so well last night and i am really tired today. miles is feeling great. he said he slept fine. at one point, while we were sitting in bed, miles said mom, this is fun. only my kid would think this is fun. when we got up the sleep tech said miles did a great job. that he did snore, but he didn't think that miles stopped breathing. he said the doctor would have to look at it to be sure. so when i get the results, i'll let you all know.
