"man cold"

thursday nights...

thursday night's are special nights. i usually have some kind of scrapbooking class on thursday nights, so the kids go to papa and sam sam's house for dinner, soaky and sleepover. sam sam always tries to do some kind of cooking with miles, because he loves it so much. on this particular thursday sam sam had everything ready to make homemade pizzas. he had a blast and maisy loved eating the final product. i am so glad the kids have all these special memories with their grandparents.

a day at the lake...

the weekend we celebrated maisy's 2nd birthday the boys + jody headed to lake lopez. papa had just had the boat fixed and wanted to take it out for a test run. as you can see mr. miles likes to be captain of the ship. david says he is super serious when he's driving. this didn't surprise me, that's just miles. i guess at one point he was doing donuts, and cut it a little to sharp and almost threw everyone out of the boat. of course miles thought that was hilarious.

my "baby" is growing up so fast. i am glad he has no fear of trying new things, and that he enjoys life to the fullest... ahh... to be 5 again.

backyard photo fun...

the weather was beautiful, and maisy was wearing a tutu, i had to pull the camera out and do a little photo shoot. these were some of my favorites.  maisy is ALWAYS on the go, and it is so hard to get a picture of her smiling.

celebrating birthday #2... what a great day!

we had fun celebrating maisy's birthday today. nana was her to celebrate with us, and she took us all out to lunch at the loading dock, yummy. when we got home from lunch miles and i made maisy's birthday cake. it came out cute, but i need a little more practice. when maisy got up from her nap we got her ready for her "party". grammy and grandad  even got to sing happy birthday to maisy via skype. that was really special. maisy kept looking at them and even tried to feed them cake, too cute. she loved her magnetic dress up doll from uncle stephen, auntie amanda and aidan. but her favorite gift by far was the guitar she got. she loved playing it and kept saying guitar hero... saturday we get to celebrate again with papa, sam sam auntie jody and bryan.

today, when i picked miles up from school, we were in the car pulling out of the driveway and miles saw a teacher he recognized. he pointed to her and said "mom, that's the speech teacher." i said, "does she come to help in your class?" he said "no mom, she's the hard to listen teacher."(pointing to his ears) i did all i could to not laugh out loud and immediately thought of you guys.

i parked next to this car today... should have taken a picture of both our plates. for those of you who don't know my plate reads: soxgrl...

11 months old

two years have gone by way too fast, and looking at all of maisy's photos makes me realize that even more.

maisy is about 3 1/2 months old in this picture. we are celebrating the 4th of july in boston. this was maisy's first trip on an airplane.

i LOVE this picture of maisy... i took this trying to get a picture of her to use for her birth announcement. looking back on the picture i did use for her announcement, i really should have used this one.

in 8 days my little girl is going to be 2! the past 2 years have gone by so fast!!

bath time...

this girl loves anything to do with water. bath time, soaking, swimming... she is so comfortable in the water. we took lessons when she was about 10 months old, but she kept getting sick so we stopped, but she spends a lot of time in the hot tub. one day she just starting doing this in the hot tub. then the other day she decided to do it in the tub. she puts her whole face in the water and keeps it there for a while. it amazes me she knows how to hold her breath and not breath the water in. i am so glad both my kids are so comfortable in the water.

first game...

today was miles' first t-ball game. the whole day including opening ceremonies were threatened by rain. when i told miles this, he started to cry. i asked what he was crying about, he said "i just REALLY want to play my first game." i made him oatmeal for breakfast, and he didn't even take a bite... his reason, "mom, i am just too excited to eat."
we got to the field, lined up and got ready for opening ceremonies. when he ran out on the field, you'd think he just won a day a disneyland. his smile was from ear to ear.  he did an amazing job today, he really focuses on the ball, i think he stopped all the balls that went by him. but more than anything it was a thrill to watch him enjoy every minute of his very first game.
