i saw her do a performance on a trapeze while singing and thought it was amazing, and then she did this tonight. i LOVE the song and the performance!

fresh air and sunshine...

i was super grumpy today... didn't really want to do much. miles and david were trying to decide what to do. they wanted to go for a walk/bike ride at the los flores recreation area. they really wanted me to go, but i was really not in the mood. then david convinced me that the fresh air and exercise would do me good. so we packed up the car, got some sandwiches and headed out.  we walked for a while, ate lunch and then headed out on another trail. miles found some cow bones, pretty cool. we got to the end of this trial, and there was a little bench for us to sit on. we rested a while, had some drinks and ate some sunflower seeds. maisy really wanted to eat some, we gave her one just to see what she would do with it.  she did exactly what the boys did. spit it out. now the boys are spitting out the shell, but she didn't know that. so as soon as she put one in her mouth she would spit it out. she thought it was hilarious and it was. the first pictures are of her in her spitting pose. all and all it ended up being a good day. the fresh air and sunshine were nice.

update...

thursday i got my results from my sleep study. i stop breathing 25 times an hour. my oxygen level drops to 85% and i only get "good" sleep 57% of the night. i asked the doctor if these results were bad enough to make me feel as crappy as i do everyday. he said for sure. besides having the apneas, my snoring disturbs my sleep, taking me from one sleep level to another. he suggested i use a CPAP.  (click on word CPAP for more info) i have to go back on thursday to have another sleep study done, but this time, i will sleep with the cpap on and the techs will adjust the airflow to what best suits me. the doctor said this will change my life.  after a few months, i will fell like a new person. i can't wait.  once i get the machine, i'll post a pic of the sexiness (he he he).
 

tonight was my monthly scrapbooking meeting. i hosted it and we had a fun night. david took the kids to dinner and then dropped maisy off and took miles to boomers. it was so nice to hang out with my peeps. i am so lucky to have such an amazing group of friends.  i look forward to this get together all month long.

not sure what the weekend has in store, i'm sure we will visit papa and sam sam since we haven't seen them in over a week. other than that, no plans. hopefully just a lot of relaxing.

have any of you mommy's out there ever seen these chair in public bathrooms before. i can't say i have, but they are the best invention EVER. especially when you have a child like maisy that would climb under the stall if i tried to have her stand in the bathroom and wait for me. she wasn't thrilled to sit in it, but it made it some much easier for me.

sweet tooth...

maisy and i headed to target tonight... i had to return a few things, and i just needed to get out of the house. of course i had to pick up a few things from the valentine's section. they had these so called "limited addition" heart shaped peppermint patties. of course my little chocoholic daughter wanted one. here she is after yumming it up... i love the crazed look in her eyes like "GIVE ME MORE". i think girls are just born with he chocolate loving gene.

good day sunshine...

so happy to wake up to the sun shining this morning. it was a little chilly, but the sky was beautiful. miles has been outside just about all day playing with his buddy jacob. maisy has been running around the house keeoing herself entertained. david had to work today, but will hopefully be home soon to hang out with miles and either take a bike ride or work on some legos. pretty boring post today, but i need to keep up with my post a day for january...
i've been looking at old photos, trying to catch up on some scrapbooking and i found this picture of maisy. i just love the way her lips look when she is sleeping. she was about 3 months old in this picture, but her face still looks like that when she sleeps now.

i {heart} hanna...

i love gymboree, but my new LOVE is Hanna Anderson. i had a few things from hanna when miles was little, but the girls clothes are WAAAAAY cuter.  maisy got a bunch of outfits from hanna for christmas. when i looked at the clothes, especially the pants, i thought they were going to be way too big. they fit her perfectly. i had to take a picture of her booty, because it just looked so cute in those little pants. i always said i was not a "girl" momma, but i am really loving it. i am so blessed i get to experience having both a son and a daughter.

maisy's how old?

when i put maisy's hair back in a ponytail she looks like she's about 14 years old and tonight when she posed for pictures with miles, i couldn't get over how grown up she looked. time is going by way too fast. i am so blessed to have two amazing kids.

rain, rain go away... (not really)

it has been raining here in santa maria like crazy. the wind is blowing really hard too. lots of friends have lost electricity. yesterday afternoon we went to the grocery store and when we walked it, it was dark. albertsons had lost electricity and was running on generators. all the coolers were covered with cardboard to keep the cold in. i tried to take a picture, but of course my card was not in my camera. so i took this picture in my backyard. when i measured it, the rain was at about 2.5 inches. the weather men are saying possibly 8 inches of rain.  that would be great for the lakes. i'll keep you updated on how much rain we get.

after three great weeks, and lots of work completed grammy and grandad headed back to massachusetts today. we had a really good time while they were here. grandad did an awesome job with making my yard look great again and grammy made my bedroom look as she put it "grown up" we had the same color paint in there for so long, it was time for a change. i'll post pics as soon as the finishing touches are complete. we'll be getting together again in may for the ebner family get together in myrtle beach.  thanks again mom and dad. i miss you already and love you very much!

guitar hero addict

just a few months ago, miles couldn't even get through the practice programs on guitar hero. now he is getting 96% on easy for the song "one" by metallica. he is soooo proud of himself. he asks if he can play as soon as he gets home from school. and since today was the weekend, he got up and started playing before he got dressed or had breakfast. tonight he sounded just like an addict. he said to david "dad, i'm just going to do 3 songs." i have to admit i am really proud of him and his determination.

i think it's so funny that he looks naked in the 2nd picture.

sleep study part deux

ok, so not the most flattering picture, but here i am right before i went to sleep last night. i was surprised with how well i slept. of course the technicians didn't give me any feed back other than you did great. i should have the results within a week or so. i'm sure the number one thing they are going to tell me to do is lose weight. i hope if they give me a c-pap, i will be able to sleep better at night, so i am not tired all day long, and then i'll have enough energy to exercise. it is such a vicious cycle. hopefully one i can break. wish me luck!

way back week

it's been way back week on facebook this week. everyone has been changing their profile pic to a picture of themselves as a kid. i finally changed mine... does this picture remind you of anyone?

1st doll house...

i remember when i got my first dollhouse. i was about 5 or 6 years old. my grampy made it for me and my grammy decorated it. i got it for christmas. i remember as soon as i saw it i started to cry. that was the first time i remember crying because i was happy. pretty cool experience all around. maisy got a doll house for christmas this year.  very different experience than the one i had. hers is not handmade and she didn't have the shear joy i had. but i must say she loves her doll house. she puts the mommy and daddy into bed, puts the baby in the crib and the cutest part is she makes the daddy hold the baby.

it's the most wonderful time of the year...again

miles headed back to school today... we had a great 3 weeks off, but he was ready to go back. and i was ready for him to go back... does that make me a bad momma? i can't believe how big he is getting.

my poor baby

as you saw in my previous post, miles is being treated for asthma. well last night at midnight he had an attack. he just coughed and coughed. poor thing was crying and asked "mommy why do i have to have this cough?" then his eyes started to itch and that made him even more miserable. we gave him a hot shower, and some warm tea. he finally settled down and fell asleep around 1:30AM.

amazing sky...

the sky in santa maria was AMAZING! miles, david and myself had a late lunch at applebees, when we walked out the sky was orange and pink and grey. it almost looked like a tornado was heading our way. getting into the car, we saw a beautiful rainbow. it sprinkled a little and then it was dark. i have pics, but i can't find my camera right now. i'll have them for you in the morning.

just breath...

miles had a bad cough right before we went on christmas vacation.  then it seemed to go away and he was fine. poor miles has been coughing like crazy again for the past week. he seems to cough more after he's been playing or running around. since today was friday and he starts back at school on monday, i thought i should have the doctor see him. as you can see from the picture, he has a problem. right now the doctor thinks he may have activity induced asthma.  she could not believe how bad and annoying his cough is. so he's on two different inhalers and an antibiotic. if those things don't seem to be working, we'll be adding a steroid on sunday.  i feel so bad for him because he doesn't act sick, he plays and plays and plays and then he coughs and coughs and coughs. i really hope all these things work for him. i know he is really frustrated too. i'll keep you all updated,

perfect brownie...

every time miles sees the commercial for the "perfect brownie" maker on tv he says "mom we HAVE to get that." i agree, it looks pretty cool.  well i happened to be in cvs the other day, and what did they have? the perfect brownie maker. i had to get it. miles was so excited and wanted to make browines right away. we waited and made them the next morning. it's super easy and the brownies come out perfectly just like they say. the only thing miles and i thought was funny, was that on the commercial it looks like it makes huge browines, they actually kind of small brownies. all and all the "perfect brownie" maker was a success. 

butterfly grove...

miles, maisy, my mom, nana and myself headed to grover beach to check out the monarch butterflies. we had been before, but it was in march, and we missed them. but today, there were a bunch. one of the docents told us there were about 10,000. i got a few pictures, i wish i had my bigger lens to get closer, but you get the idea. the weather was perfect. we followed a path that took us right to the beach. gorgeous! there was a little handmade swing in one of the dunes heading to the beach. perfect for maisy. we had an amazing day.

grandad love...

maisy fell in love with her grandad as soon as she saw him at the airport. she runs around the house yelling "d-dad, d-dad"  and wants to be held by him all the time. maisy is so glad to have her "mimi" (grammy) and ern-dad here, and i love watching the interaction between them all.

what a difference a year makes.

2009 in review

january- we spent most of the month in MA with my family. the kids had fun in the snow, ice skating and hanging out with cousin aidan.

february- maisy got 2 teeth, worked really hard at walking and enjoyed "talking" on the phone.

march- maisy turned "1" we had a fun cupcake themed birthday at papa and sam sam's. grammy and grandad were here to celebrate as well. maisy also got her ears pierced.

april- miles had fun at his easter egg hunt at waller park,    and we enjoyed a yummy easter brunch at the santa maria inn with nana.

may- miles moved into a big boy car seat, stuck a purple bead up his nose and did his last preschool homework packet. we also spent some fun time in newport beach. oh and "uncle" corey came to visit.

june- miles learned had to ride a two wheeler, and he graduated from preschool. maisy is a great little walker.

july- we spent 3 weeks in massachusetts. we did so many things, tall ships, storyland, red sox games and tons of swimming.

august- miles turned "5".  we had an awesome pirate themed birthday party in our backyard. and miles started kindergarten.

september- miles and maisy started swimming lessons, miles started tap dancing and got student of the month. the whole family enjoyed a visit to the lake.

october- another fun halloween... miles was commander fox and maisy was a cute ladybug. we also made our annual trip to avila farm for pumpkins.

november- miles and maisy started gymnastics, miles participated in a sleep study, maisy got her 1st haircut and miles had an awesome thanksgiving feast at school. miles also played rookie basketball at the Y.

december- MERRY CHRISTMAS! we did sooo much christmas related this month. david is still working his a@@ off. we miss him and can't wait for this job to be over.  I hope next year is even better than this year... happy 2010!!!
