as promised...

here is some video of miles at his dance class.  i also included a picture which i think sums up exactly what miles thinks about the ballet part of his class.  in the video with miles and the "capes", they were told to act like butterflies... i asked miles when he was done if he pretended to be a butterfly or superman, he said no mom, i pretended i was peter pan...
(turn your volume down, all you hear is some mom chatting away about how she used to teach tap... blah, blah, blah...)

FINALLY...

i think most of you remember this post...  YIKES! (click on YIKES to read entry)it has been a lot of waiting, but we finally picked up david's new car on friday.  it a brand new 2010 Camaro. it's AWESOME! and a lot of fun to drive.  i like it because it is sporty, which david likes, but it also fits the car seats, which i like.

i can't believe my eyes...

miles' sharing day in kindergarten is on tuesdays... this weeks share is suppose to be a photo of your family.  i knew exactly what picture i wanted to print for him to bring. while i was scrolling through all my photos i came across the first photo and had to take a double take. the first photo is of miles during his last week or so of pre-school probably late may early june. he was showing me that he had finished his last preschool homework. the second picture is from his first day of kindergarten last week. i couldn't get over how much older he looks and in only 3 months.  i can't imagine how different he will look on his last day of kindergarten.

family time...

david, myself and the kids had a wonderful day hanging out in morrow bay and cambria. we planned on just driving up to cambria, having some lunch and taking a walk on moonstone beach, but on the ride up we saw a playground near the beach and decided to stop. both kids love playing at the playground. there was a boardwalk that headed down to the beach. it was beautiful! even though the weather was overcast, it was the perfect temperature, we all actually got a little bit of sun burn... after that we headed to cambria. had a delicious lunch at our favorite mexican restaurant, listened to some live music and did a little shopping. the kids were great and david and i really enjoyed some much needed time together.

future rock star?

maisy and i were in tj maxx in july, before our big trip just looking for a few last minute items.  somehow this hairpiece ended up in our basket.  i think maisy pulled it off a shelf when i wasn't looking. i had to try it on her, i laughed out loud when i looked at her, it was so funny. so what do you think, does she make a good red headed rock star?

them toes are tappin'

i don't know if you all know this, but miles LOVES to dance. he dances around the house all the time. he also likes to watch so you think you can dance and america's best dance crew. he's been asking to take hip hop.  i looked into it and found out he has to be six to do hip hop, but that he could take tap now in preparation for hip hop. he was all for it. i didn't tell him that it was actually a combo class, tap and ballet.  i just told him sometimes you dance with your tap shoes on sometimes you practice with "slippers" on. i think he fell for it. he was so cute tapping his feet and even cuter when he was doing ballet. I will hopefully get pictures of him actually dancing next week.

I can't believe ...

today was miles' 1st day of kindergarten. where has the time gone? it feels like yesterday i was pregnant with him and now i am dropping him off at his first day of elementary school.  i didn't cry today, but i just couldn't stop thinking about how our lives are going to be so different now. just another milestone in all of our lives.

update: just picked miles up from school... looks like he had a good day. i asked miles what he did in kindergarten today, his answer was "i don't remember" (of course).  i have to get used to not hearing all the details of the day from his teachers, like i did when he was in preschool.

Arrrrrr Matey!

we celebrated miles' 5th birthday today with a pirate party.  i was surprised and excited when he decided he wanted to wear a pirate costume. auntie charlotte got the costume for him and shipped it all the way from georgia. (thanks cha) he looked AWESOME!  We had a face painter at the party, and all the kids and even some of the adults had something painted on their face. gina's piece of cake did an amazing job with his pirate treasure map cake.  we made necklaces, had a treasure box pinata and braydon was champion at the bean bag toss game. after the party was over and all the kids left, miles came up to me and said " i knew this would be the best pirate party ever." that just made my day!
Happy Birthday big boy. I can't believe you are 5 already! Mommy and Daddy are so proud of who you are and who you are becoming.
