preschool update!

maisy started preschool last monday. needless to say it was a rocky start. she didn't want david and i to leave. she wouldn't even let me take pictures of her (come-on). when i picked her up i was told she was held for most of the time, she cried and didn't really participate. on a good note she didn't have any potty accidents. on wednesday she brought her "mousie and bunny" she did better in that she didn't have to be held all day. she ate lunch, but still didn't really participate. on a bad note, she pooped and peed. GREAT! friday came around and and i was dreading taking her. it was her best day yet. she didn't cry except for a little after i left, she ate lunch, she participated... finishing 4 activies and no potty problems YIPPEEE!! hopefully this role will continue and we will have another successful week... fingers crossed.

these pics were actually taken on maisy's 2nd day of school...

this where maisy stands to say goodbye to me in the morning.

before and after

miles finally got his hair cut. we wanted to have it cut before his first day of school, but we also wanted auntie jody to do it, so we had to wait until this weekend. i can't believe the difference. i knew his hair was long, but i didn't realize how long until jody started cutting. i am still getting used to it, but i think he looks really cute and grown up. thanks auntie jody. you are the best! here are the before and after pics.

sorry for the delay in the first day of school post. i was having some issues with my computer. miles is officially a 1st grader and very excited about it. he has been very tired after school everyday, he's not used to being in school a whole day. i can't wait to see and experience all the progress he'll make this year.
maisy starts preschool tomorrow. i am having a hard time with it. as my friend joanna put it, this will be my last first day of preschool. i'm sure i'll have a few tears.

the fun continues...

here's the latest:  we had fun hanging out at beaver brook running through the sprinklers and playing at the park. maisy and cousin aidan love swimming in the pool at grammy and grandads.  thanks to my friend stacie, we found kick a** cupcakes in somerville.  cupcakes were ok, nothing like sprinkles in california. finally, on tuesday we headed to the beach in rockport. it was a beautiful day and the kids had a wonderful time. a couple more trips planned... of course i'll keep you updated.

east coast love...

so we have been having fun here in cambridge. the weather has been FABULOUS! we went to the franklin park zoo, fun day. my brother stephen, sister-in-law amanda and I went to see clem snide at the middle east (i miss my middle east days) really good time. found out the field has a patio (not a joke). we had an AWESOME storm with lots of lightening. the family made a trip to the boston public gardens, i just love this picture of grandad with all his grandkids. and of course my pretty much daily dose of dunkin' donuts iced coffee!
much more to do, keep checking for more pictures.

the first of many...

yesterday was a big day in two ways... david's brother aaron got married, and miles lost his first tooth!!!  we were having corn on the cob for dinner. miles was eating and all of a sudden he says "mom, why is there blood on my corn." i looked in his mouth, and his tooth was missing. we looked on his plate, in his mouth and on the corn, and there was no tooth to be found. we think he swallowed the tooth. sad, because i want to keep all of the kids teeth when they fall out. we told miles that even though he didn't have his tooth, the tooth fairy would still come and she did. he was very excited to look under his pillow in the morning.  the funny thing is he didn't even know he had a lose tooth. pretty exciting day!
