lunch on the lawn

friday was lunch on the lawn at miles' school. every few months his school has a day when we can come and have lunch with him. it's a chance for miles to have a special lunch. his choice was lunch from subway. we spread out the blanket and had a wonderful time with miles. he loved having mommy and daddy all to himself. can't wait for the next lunch on the lawn.

one of our favorites...

flatbread pizza in los alamos. we decided to take nana for her first flatbread experience. we prepared her for at least a 45+ minute wait. for the first time EVER, we were seated right away. i had a delicious heirloom tomato and mozzarella salad for starters, a yummy glass of wine and pepperoni and pepper pizza (only kind i've ever had there).  i just love this place, lots of fun times.

twinkle toes

i signed maisy and i up for mommy and me ballet. yesterday was our first class. it was fun and cute. there are about 15 kids in the class. our teacher ms. victoria is great. she's all about us having fun with each other and maybe the kids getting some ballet. she just kept reminding us the kids are 2, just go with the flow. something i need to do more in my life so maybe, i'll learn more than just a few ballet moves. maisy was a bit clingy, but i think she'll participate more next time.

true two year old...

when i had miles, i was preparing myself for all the trouble toddlers get into. miles never got into toddler trouble. he didn't do the typical things you'd expect a two year old to do. thanks to maisy, i get to experience all the wonderfulness of a two year old i missed with miles. her favorite word is "NO!", and she loves to throw herself on the the floor in a fit. here are some of the other two year old things she likes to do.
at my parent's house, she went into the bathroom, put on her makeup, came out of the room with her arms wide open and said "mom, i'm ready!"                                                  

if maisy is too quiet in her bedroom, it's more than likely this is what she's doing. thank goodness for washable markers and crayons.






she also likes to get into the shower (fully dressed) and puts conditioner on her hands, in her hair on her face and just about anywhere else she manages to touch.

























although she can be a handful, i am glad i get to experience a true two year old.

6th birthday fun...better late then never!

we got to celebrate miles 6th birthday in boston this year. now, the weather was hot while we were there, but i think it was the hottest most humid day the day of his party (YUCK).  miles wanted to have a star wars themed party so we worked it into the day. but instead of getting a star wars cake, we used the yummy chocolate filled cake auntie amanda made in her cake decorating class. we threw a darth vadar candle on the top, and miles was thrilled. since david had to stay in california, we skyped him and he got to wish miles a happy birthday. it was fun to be able to celebrate with his cousins and neighborhood friends. miles was thrilled about all of his gifts. that night when i was putting miles to bed, he said he had such a fun day.
