"plane morrow?"

while my mom and dad were visiting, maisy and grammy soaked in the hot tub and talked about all the fun they had over the summer when we were back east. maisy loved swimming in the blow up pool in grammy's back yard. grammy asked maisy if she wanted to go on the plane with grammy (without mommy) and go to her house. maisy said "yes, go down slide in pool with aidan?"  the night before my mom and dad flew back home, they told maisy to get ready to go on the plane. maisy came out with her denim sun hat and bathing suit top saying "plane morrow?"(plane tomorrow) she then went in her room and got her leapster case, my mom told her she should probably bring some underwear and socks... maisy ran in and put socks (dirty ones) and underwear in the leapster case and said she was ready to go. it was so cute, but so sad at the same time. my mom and dad left at 5:30 the next morning while the kids were still sleeping. when maisy woke up she said "grammy and dedad sleeping?" i told her they went home... her response:

"plane morrow?"

a new tradition...

this year, maisy's preschool decided to participate in the old orcutt christmas parade. we decorated her wagon with tinsel, lights and bells. other kids rode bikes and tricycles. it was so cute. i was excited to see how many kids showed up to walk for creative beginnings. miles and his pal garrett ( both CB alum) got to hold the school's banner. the weather was perfect, sunny and 80. not really christmas weather, but i loved it. i think we will be attending this parade for years to come. i like this new tradition.

santa came early

since my mom and dad wouldn't be here on christmas, we decided to do christmas early. when miles opened his advent calendar door for the day it said "A Very Special Surprise Tonight"... he had no idea what it was.    I had the kids come in my bedroom to "help" me with something while grammy and grandad put the gifts out. the kids loved everything they got. miles' favorite was his new guitar hero guitar and game. maisy loved her new dora umbrella. grandad loved his keith richards book and grammy was so excited to get her brighton charm necklace. thanks grammy and "dedad" for eveything.

christmas photos 2010

so here are two samples of some of the pics we had taken for our christmas card this year. since my mom and dad were in town i thought it would be a good idea to have their picture taken with the kids. i know lots of people who use jc penney for their pictures, so i gave them a try. other than them being a bit pricey, i was happy with the results. i can only show you these pics for now, the others will be on our christmas card. i planned to have our pictures taken on a saturday so david would be around to have our family portrait taken. of course, david had to work on saturday so we were not able to get our family pic done... typical. we'll go back after the holidays and have our portrait done then.
