sick of being sick...

i have been really bad about blogging, and i apologize. there have just been lots of things going on to distract me. one of the major distractions has been my continued sickness. i have had a sore throat since the beginning of april, it's not as bad as it was then, but it is still sore and annoying. i have also had a breakout of EN.  i went to a new doctor, and he has been a big help, but the process is slow. he determined i may have Epstein Barr disease. i looked it up on line, and i have a lot of the symptoms, but when i talked to the nurse practitioner who has treated me in the past, she thinks it's more than Epstein Barr. she thinks it may be something like lupus. my doctor wants me to go to an immunologist at stanford. i am just waiting to get my appointment, of course that's been a run around too.  both my doctor and nurse practitioner agree it's some sort of auto immune disorder. i've been feeling like crap, and the medicine i have to take for the en, takes care of the en, but still makes me feel like crap all over. it is pretty depressing to feel like crap, and not know why you feel that way and not know if the feeling is going to go away. so if i have not been the friendliest and kind of anti social, this is why. i'm pretty miserable. i hate to complain about it, because there is nothing anybody can do about it, but i just wanted everyone to know why i have been kind of absent lately.

myrtle beach part two

our trip to myrtle beach was AMAZING! we didn't do a whole lot, but i think that was why the trip was so great. we spent most of our time lounging in the pool, or riding the waves at the beach, which was walking distance from the pool.
here's a list of some of the things we did...
1. the kids tie-dyed shirts
2. the whole group (25 of us) went to the dixie stampede. kind of like medieval manor, but it's a fight between the north and the south. miles was so grossed out about the eating with your hands, he couldn't even have the food in front of him.
3. we napped
4. took baths in the "really big tub"
5. hung out on our porches
6. watched the thunderstorms go by
7. sam sam, billy, tom and d-dad played 18 holes of golf.
8. the kids had a sleep over in sam sam's room
9. miles did some watercolor painting
10. chased ducks
11. played ping pong
12. bbq'ed
13. drank as much dunkin' donuts iced coffee as i could
14. collected silly bands
and
15. enjoyed our time together as a family....

myrtle beach part one

the kids did pretty good on the flights to myrtle beach. of course neither of them slept, but all in all they did a good job. when we arrived at the hotel, we headed right to one of the many pools. this one in the pictures is called the woodsy pool. it is the perfect kids pool, it's really shallow, it has fun sprinklers, a waterslide and a really cool tree house.  at night they would do "dive in" movies. the kids could swim and watch a movie at the same time. maisy got so tired swimming, she crawled up into d-dad's arms and snuggled. all of a sudden there was a puddle under d-dad's chair. maisy was so relaxed she peed on d-dad. too funny...  i'll post more pics soon....
