january in california...
the weather in santa maria has been amazing. so today the kids and i headed to avila for a day at the beach. it was gorgeous. we sat on the beach and built sand castles for about an hour and half. then we headed to the playground, maisy really wanted to go on the swings. a friend of mine had recently gone to the sea life center at the beach and i knew it would be right up miles' alley. it is very small, but they have sharks... miles loves sharks. he even got to touch a shark. when we left, he told me he want to go there every time we visit the beach. they offer summer camp for kids his age, so i think i will be signing him up for a week this summer. finally we had a delicious lunch at the custom house. the only thing that would have made the day better was if david could have been with us. he was working of course.

so much fun, so cute. there is still snow on the ground in south carolina...cold...
I am closing my eyes and imaging us there with you! Enjoy every minute of your warm weather! We are going to be in the negatives tomorrow and more snow is coming on Wednesday. Thank goodness we had the summer we did. MIss you and can't wait to see you in April. Hopefully the snow will be gone by then :)
