happy halloween 2008

ok,everybody... here are the kiddos from lastnight.  the picture of maisy in the orange is the outfit she wore all day before she got into her costume.  miles was CRAZY all day.  he just could not wait to get into his costume and get out and get the candy.  david got home early so he and miles could carve pumpkins. (i'll post those later)  then we had dinner, got dressed and headed out.  we stayed out for about an hour.  i was so sad though, halloween is NOTHING like it was when i was a kid.  we had to search for houses that had lights on and were giving out candy, when i was a kid every house in the neighborhood gave out candy.  david and i talked about how we would fill pillowcases full of candy.  but, as david said, miles doesn't know any different so he thinks it's a lot of fun.  all and all the night was a total success.  hope you all had fun too.

what a difference 7 months makes...  the first picture was taken on easter, 5 days after maisy was born.  the second picture was taken last month.  i knew maisy would look different, but i can't get over how much miles has changed.  he looks so much older.  just thought i'd share.

goodbye

auntie charlotte has been here for a month and uncle aaron has been here for 2 weeks.  it was so nice to have both of them here.  it was the first time uncle aaron got to meet maisy, and he just fell in love with her.  he also loved hanging out with miles. he thought he was pretty funny. auntie charlotte had fun feeding and holding maisy and playing cards (lots of cards) with miles.  both charlotte and aaron left on friday, but lucky for miles, he gets to spend a few more days with uncle aaron in sequoia.  david, papa jerry, miles and uncle aaron set out friday afternoon for their "boys" trip.  i'll post pics when they get back.  we will get to see uncle aaron and his girlfriend lisa at thanksgiving, and charlotte will be back in california in january.  it's always fun to hang out with family, can't wait to see you guys again soon.

thursday was miles' preschool trip to avila barn. i was so happy david was able to go on the trip this year. i was going to go too, bring maisy and just hang out, but it was too hot for that. thursday it was 92 degrees here in santa maria. there's not a whole lot of shade at the barn, so maisy and i just hung out at home. david had a great time hanging out with miles and his buddy braydan.  i was thinking, next year, the preschool should go earlier in the season so there would be more of a choice of pumpkins to pick.  then i realized miles won't be in preschool next year.  he'll be a big kindergardener in the fall.  wow! oh the little girl in the first picture is miles' friend isabella. :)

happy jumpy baby

maisy has been having a bunch of fun playing in her excersaucer, but i thought it was time she did some jumping. miles had a jumper that hung from the doorway, i can't find it anywhwere, but he also had this stationary jumper.  i put maisy in it this morning, and she wasn't quite sure what to do with it.  she sat still in it for a few minutes, and then she went to town... jumping and laughing like crazy. her legs crack me up, they look like little chicken legs. i think she is going to need some help with those legs when she starts to walk, they look a little bowed to me. what do you think?

universal studios

since uncle aaron and auntie charlotte are in town and auntie jody had saturday off, sam sam decided we should head to la and go to universal studios.  we arrived at universal around 11am and headed right for the simpson ride, since that had the longest line, about 45 minutes.  miles loved this ride and wanted to go on it again and again.  unfortunately, the simpsons ride and the shrek 4D movie were the only rides miles could go on.  but he had fun being with the family and meeting spongebob.  maisy did well too, she is such a good baby and just goes with the flow.  as long as we feed her, change her diaper and give her some attention, she is very happy. even if she misses a nap she still does well.  we all had a great time and it is always so much fun to spend time with family.
